Have you ever wanted to try woodturning? It doesn’t matter if you want a one-off experience or are thinking about a new hobby. Even a beginner will end the class with something special to take home, whereas students who have tried turning before, are welcome to try something more ambitious.

Woodturning classes are by appointment. A class lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. For people without experience I start with “spindle turning”. Choose from a range of projects such as a bottle opener or garden trowel. For more advanced students how about a bowl turning class or even a series of classes designed to build skills.

Classes cost $90 for an individual or $140 for a couple, plus materials. Materials add anything from $10 to $50 depending in your choice of project and wood type.

You’re probably going to get covered in a light covering of wood chips, so dress appropriately. Wood turning is easy and safe, but please do not wear loose clothing or jewelry (A tee shirt or wedding ring is fine but not a loose dress or necklace). Also, no open toed shoes, and if you have long hair it will need to be tied back. Safety glasses and masks will be supplied.
